Meet Victoria Gracie, an author, jiu-jitsu instructor, and founder of MyKindOfMama.com

Happy Sunday everyone,

Our guest today is Victoria Gracie, an author, jiu-jitsu instructor, and founder of MyKindOfMama.com, an organization that helps families create harmonious households with mindful parenting.

Victoria kindly agreed to join us here on the Reading with Your Kids podcast to talk about her book titled Kip and the Magical Belt, the heartwarming journey of a young boy having difficulty at school. Victoria tells us how families can use Kip and the Magical Belt to open the conversation of standing up for yourself, physical and emotional jiu-jitsu and handling an otherwise helpless situation with a bully.

Victoria shares her experience as a former professional dancer and how she learned often that life has bullies of all ages and sizes, but boundaries and being creative in how you handled them was most important. She is an advocate for emotional intelligence, compassionate communication, and self-empowerment. Her hope is that families use this book as a tool to discuss difficult topics like bullying and boundary setting.
