Lily& Lucy, beautifully illustrated by Emely Pascual, a student at Virginia Commonwealth University, is a heart-warming story about being rescued by those that you set out to rescue. Families will enjoy reading Lily & Lucy together.

Our Review
A Heartwarming story with a powerful Message and a noble cause!
Based on a real-life story, Lily and Lucy by Ed Ehlers and illustrated by Emely Pascual, is a touching, feel good story about two 5-year-old Australian Shepherd brothers, Max and Tucker, and how they helped rescue two little puppies Lily & Lucy in Virginia on Easter Sunday, 5 April 2015.
Max and Tucker along with their human family not only rescued these little puppies but they went out of their way to help find a forever- home for these dogs. This is an amazing real life story with many heroes as so many people appeared and helped at the exact right time.
It is alarming to know that so many people abandons their dog (or other animals), or animal control finds them on the street. Through MAX and Tucker’s eyes kids will learn about compassion, cooperation and responsibility to get involved with helping abused or abandoned animals. It also raises awareness about how animals should be treated and the joy that comes from loving a pet. Anyone who has ever fallen in love with a rescue dog will enjoy this book.
In the heart-warming narrative, Ehler’s details Lily and Lucy’s road to being rescued, many challenges faced by the people who tried to rescue them, the difficulties and joys, as well as the care given by the family in their effort to offer these puppies a normal, happy life. This book inspires a commitment to rescue animals that are abandoned, lost or injured.
This book will help educate and inspire kids to get involved in helping animals in need. Author also donates a part of the sales of their books to Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation, so when you buy a book, you become a part of the organization that saves the lives of thousands of homeless and abandoned pets each year.
Final Verdict
Overall, a delightful book for both children and adults to enjoy and learn a few lessons along the way. The real photographs of Lily & Lucy, Max and Tucker on the last page of this book will melt your heart because they are so adorable! Excellent story with wonderful illustrations. A book for all ages, can be a great addition to your kid’s library! Adore it!
