Our Review
It’s a Tournament Tuesday for Alycat and her little brother Bugsy.
And Bugsy is so-o-o excited to play with his lucky golf ball. He thinks his ball helped him win the race against his sister and that it helps him with his golf game. He won’t leave for the golf course without his lucky golf ball. His mother tries to explain to Bugsy that it is not luck that will help him with the game but it is his hard work and practice which will make him a better player. When Bugsy enters a golf course, he is counting on his good luck to help him win the game. But is luck the only thing that matters? It is only when Alycat forgets to bring his lucky ball, Bugsy learns that success comes from his own smarts, practice, and hard work–not lucky charms and chance.
Alycat and the Tournament Tuesday is perfect for kids who are working hard with issues such as shyness, self-acceptance, courage, and discovering their talents, skills, or hard work. On the last page of the book, the author has included the ABC’s of golf which will help the beginners to understand the terminologies used in the game of golf. There is simplicity in the text which makes it easier for little ones to follow the story. The illustrations are happy and bright and very well compliment the emotions and theme of the book. The book is guaranteed to boost the self-confidence of your child.
FINAL VERDICT
A fun little book to introduce kids to the game of golf and to teach them valuable lessons about believing in themselves and working hard to achieve their goals.
