Meet the MG Author: Wendy McLeod Macknight
Today, we’re pleased to be joined by Wendy McLeod MacKnight, debut author of It’s a Mystery, Pig Face!, a middle-grade novel in which an 11-year-old girl finds a bag of money in a baseball dugout and enlists the help of her best friend and annoying little brother to discover who lost – or maybe, stole – it, in a town brimming with suspects. Wendy McLeod MacKnight grew up in a magical small town with a library card as her prized possession. Over the course of her professional life, she’s been responsible for early childhood and child welfare programming, and ended her public service career as head of the Government of New Brunswick’s Department of Education. One day she woke up and decided it was time to pursue her life-long dream of writing books for children. It’s a Mystery, Pig Face! is her debut novel and any resemblance to the author, her brother, or her friends is purely intentional. Wendy lives in New Brunswick, Canada with her family, her garden, and a ne’er-do-well groundhog. She reads too much and may be overly fond of chocolate, the BeeGees and belly laughs.

Eleven-year-old Tracy Munroe and her family have just gotten back from their family vacation why did no one realize that her little brother, Lester, a.k.a. Pig Face, was allergic to sand, salt air, and the ocean before they decided to go to the beach? and now she has three big goals to accomplish before she goes back to school:
