Meet Elizabeth Dufek, author of “The Traveling Dress”

Finally! We have been waiting F-O-R-E-V-E-R to have Elizabeth Dufek, a mama, children’s author, and a food lover, on the Reading with your kids podcast!
Elizabeth is here to talk about her latest book “The Traveling Dress” which is about a little girl who has everything she could want, so when it comes to her birthday she doesn’t feel special. The character ends up throwing away her birthday dress, which makes its way to an orphanage. Another character gets the dress and wears it when she gets adopted and then passes it on to others for when they get adopted.
In our exciting interview, Dufek talks about how she was inspired to write a story after her toddler daughter, who is an Instagram model, was sent a dress to wear. Dufek then wrote a story as a thank you to the sender of the dress.
So take a deep breath and listen in to join us on the adventure of the dress as it travels and teaches Alexandra the miracle of sharing!
About the Author
Elizabeth Hamilton Dufek tries to be a styled mom, but most days she wears pieces of potential haphazardly thrown together as a result of her pride – her family. She is married to her good-looking co-pilot who defines a successful day as one in which he makes her laugh to a belly ache. Together they have 3 girls: Alex, the 12-year-old goal chaser; Sophia, the 10-year-old theater major; and Piper, the 2-year-old Instagram sunshine. Elizabeth’s desire to raise them to be fearless leaders, accomplishing whatever they put their mind to, led to the completion of this book.
