About the author
Karen Schaufeld is the co-founder of All Ages Read Together and founder of 100WomenStrong, an organization dedicated to strategic philanthropy. Karen resides with her husband Fred in Virginia and has three children and 4 dogs. The Lollipop Tree was her first book in 2014, which was followed by Larry and Bob in 2016 and How to Eat a Peach in 2019. Her latest release, Vultures, A Love Story, debuted in Spring 2022.

The Lollipop Tree by Karen Schaufeld is a wonderful Picture book that provides children with a great model for coping with tough situations that youngsters will inevitably face.
This empowering book follows the journey of a little tree in all stages of her life – growing from being a tiny greenshoot to becoming a tall and proud Lollipop tree – moving to a new home, being hit by a thunderstorm that leaves her with broken limbs and bouncing back from challenging circumstances to grow bigger and bigger . The book celebrates little tree’s strength and resilience in the face of life’s challenges. It’s a perfect resource for kids to not only learn about overcoming challenges but also dealing with setbacks and not giving up when things get tough. A perfect addition to any home or class library. Also a great discussion starters for parents and caregivers to use to bring up the benefits of being resilient, being adaptable, being hopeful and facing challenges.
This book allows kids to explore how patience and positivity, as well as not giving up, can go a long way. It also shares many key concepts and interesting details about trees in the context of seasonal changes in such a beautiful way that readers can’t help but fall in love. The author uses a powerful and repetitive message to encourage children to overcome obstacles that they face. Through this book, children can learn about positive self talk and perseverance. Talking of the illustrations, these are bright and colorful and showcases the little tree in all seasons perfectly. There is so much to look at on each page.
