Meet Stephanie Dreyer, author of “Not A Purse”

Today we have the pleasure to welcome back Stephanie Dreyer on the Reading with your kids podcast! Stephanie is an award-winning author and the founder of StephanieDreyer.com where she shares plant-based recipes and meal planning tips. In our exciting interview, she gladly shared with us, her mission to excite children about eating fruits and vegetables while encouraging families to cook together and live healthier. She wrote her first children’s book, NOT A NUGGET, to introduce families to the idea of veganism.
Stephanie is also on a mission to help kids develop a compassion for animals. Her second book, Not A Purse, a fun sequel to Not A Nugget explores alternatives to the many ways animals are worn or used at home. It educates children and adults about how animals are used in our everyday lives, many times without us even realizing.
Stephanie was kind enough to answer a few questions about her new book and what inspired her to write this non- fiction picture book, Introduces us to other children’s book she has written and shared some interesting facts about animals and veganism. Stephanie Dreyer is a freelance writer and author. She is also the founder of the online community VeegMama, where she helps families to cook and eat healthier through a blog, recipes, cooking videos, and social media platform.
Her children‘s book, Not A Nugget, and eBook, VeegMama‘s Guide To Going Vegan, are both available on Amazon. Stephanie has been featured on KCAL 9 in Los Angeles, and in VegNews and Chickpea Magazine. She is a proud partner of Raddish Kids, providing dietary substitutions for their monthly subscription boxes. Stephanie is also a contributor to the popular online media outlets, World of Vegan, VegNews, and Girlie Girl Army. She has been featured on several websites, including PETAKids, The San Francisco Vegetarian Examiner, SheKnows, The Active Times, and Care.com.
Stephanie holds an M.S. in Integrated Marketing from Northwestern University and a B.A. in Communications from The University of California, San Diego. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and three children. When she’s not writing on her laptop or chasing after her kids, you can find her cooking something delicious or reading something wonderful.
