More about the Author
With a lifelong love of children’s literature, Alison Paul Klakowicz earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from East Carolina University, as well as a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. She worked for over a decade as a human services professional and counselor and has also worked as a journalist and freelance writer.
She is a military spouse who resides in Fayetteville, NC. They enjoy spending time with their loved ones on the North Carolina coast, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the Poconos mountains, and whenever they get the chance, they go on adventures, making priceless memories.

“A Great teaching tool to inspire kids to travel and explore!”
Moms know everything. They know how to bake and play sports and pump bicycle tires and tuck their kids into bed just right. But did you know that they are also very strong? Mommy’s Big, Red Monster Truck written by Alison Paul Klakowicz follows the story of a little boy and his cool mommy who drives a big, red monster truck. The truck is big, it bounces and smashes and takes them on amazing adventures all over the country. Together, they go on adventures, making life long memories as they explore every state of the USA from Alabama to Wyoming and the nation’s capital in this bubbly, bright book. Mommy’s Big, Red Monster Truck is Alison Paul’s first book. It provides fun and interactive ways of teaching children about the 50 United States will inspire and entertain with its beautifully-designed illustrations of the many different faces of the American states. Each page details a different state and includes oversize pictures and some information. The story rhymes and flows nicely. What we like most about the book is the strong message to kids about the value of being grateful to their mothers.
One of the greatest things about reading, for us, is the ability to travel and travel books for children inspire curiosity about the world. Mommy’s Big, Red Monster Truck is an incredible way to engage your children in the travel experience. This delightful picture book is both beautifully descriptive and gorgeously illustrated.
It is a fun and entertaining read that will brighten any day of the year, but especially Mother’s Day. This picture book also celebrates a miraculous bond between a mother and a child. The last page of the book shows the little boy explaining all the wonderful things mothers do for their kids and why he is thankful for his mother. Packed with all the reasons why moms are so wonderful, this little book is like adding sunshine to the bookshelf. The rhyming style makes it perfect for story times and read- alouds.
